CHICAGO – The Chicago Red Stars (2-1-1, 7 pts) pay a visit to the Pacific Northwest, looking to bounce back as they take on Seattle Reign FC (1-3-0, 3 pts). The second meeting of 2024 between the Red Stars and the Reign comes just three NWSL matchdays after Seattle visited the Windy City for Chicago’s home opener. The last time the Red Stars and the Reign met prior to 2024 was October 15, 2023; the final regular-season match for both sides. History between the two teams goes back even further for the long-time NWSL fan, as Chicago and Seattle were founding NWSL clubs who faced off against each other in their inaugural NWSL match April 14, 2013. Sunday’s meeting will be the 32nd time the two clubs have met and the chips between them fall almost evenly, with each side having 11 wins, 11 losses, and 8 draws. Stacking Up Against Seattle: stat opta comparison to come Since the Red Stars most recent 2-1 win over Reign in Chicago’s home opener, the statistical gap has continued to widen between the two teams.
