The Crew recorded a 2-2 draw against the Portland Timbers in tonight’s home match at Lower.com Field in Columbus, Ohio.

Columbus has scored at least one goal in 24 of its past 26 matches across all competitions, netting 48 goals in the stretch.

With tonight’s tie with the Portland Timbers, the Crew extended their home unbeaten streak to 17 regular season matches, the second-longest streak in club history (22 games from 2008-09).

The Crew have a league-best 25 multiple-goal matches since 2023 (21 in 2023; four in 2024), pending LAFC’s result tonight (24 since 2023).

Through nine matches, the Crew are 3-1-5.

It is the Crew’s third time since 2004, when MLS overtimes were eliminated, that the Club has lost only one of its first nine MLS fixtures (6-1-2 in 2010 and 2020; 3-1-5 in 2024).

Since 2004, the Black & Gold’s 14 points through nine matches are tied for third highest in Club annals:

2010 and 2020 – 20 points, 6-1-2

2008 – 19 points, 6-2-1

2024 – 14 points, 3-1-5

2004 – 14 points, 4-3-2

The Crew are unbeaten through their first five home matches (3-0-2) of the 2024 season.

It marks only the sixth time the Club has accomplished the feat (2007, 2009, 2011, 2020, 2021 and 2204).

The Black & Gold’s 13 points in their first five home matches of a campaign are tied for the second-most earned in that span (15 in 2020; 11 in 2011, 2021 and 2024).

The Crew’s longest unbeaten streaks at home to start a season:

13 matches in 2009.

Seven (7) matches in 2011, 2020 and 2021.

Five (5) matches in 2007 and 2024* – *active streak.

Forward Cucho Hernández scored a right-footed goal to level the scoring, 1-1, in the 51st minute.

Hernández has registered 16 goal contributions (14 goals, two assists) in his last 15 MLS regular season matches.

Tonight, Cucho recorded his 50 MLS regular season appearance for the Black & Gold. Since joining the Crew midway through the 2022 season, he has amassed 29 goals and 15 assists while being selected as the 2023 MLS Cup MVP and to the 2023 MLS Best XI.

Defender Steven Moreira scored a right-footed long-range strike in the 72nd minute.

It marked his first goal of the 2024 season and second in MLS regular season play. His first was a game-tying goal in the 96th minute at FC Cincinnati on Aug. 27, 2022.

Midfielder Aidan Morris on Moreira’s goal registered the 10th assist of his MLS career.
