ATLANTA – Atlanta United 2 today announced that it has signed free agent defender Ramzi Qawasmy. The 24-year-old defender spent five seasons at Providence College before playing with Louisville City FC during the 2023 season. Qawasmy is signed through the 2024 MLS NEXT Pro season with a team option for 2025.

Qawasmy most recently appeared for USL Championship side Louisville City FC. He played two matches for Louisville, including one start. Prior to his time at Louisville, Qawasmy had a prolific collegiate career at Providence College where he recorded 88 appearances, all starts, and tallied seven goals from 2018-22. Qawasmy was a four-time All-BIG EAST honoree and named to the 2022 MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List. During his time in college, Qawasmy also played for Reading United (USL League Two) in 2021 and West Chester United (USL League Two) in 2022.

Atlanta (1-2-0, 3 points) returns to action on Sunday, April 21 as the club hosts FC Cincinnati 2 at 3:00 p.m. ET. The match will be broadcast on MLSNEXTPro.com and tickets can be purchased here
