Vancouver FC News Release

Langley, BC – Vancouver will complete their first homestand of 2024 by hosting Halifax Wanderers FC today at 7 p.m. PT at Willoughby Park.

MATCH STORYLINES:

Starting off Strong: VFC started their 2024 CPL campaign registering a franchise record of four goals in one match. After the first match week, Vancouver sits first in the table, based on goal differential, which is also a first for the second-year club.

Centurion at Home: VFC’s off-season addition Ben Fisk could make his 100th appearance in all competitions if he sees the pitch on Thursday against HFX. By joining VFC, the B.C.-born midfielder has now played for half of the clubs in the CPL but is within sight of receiving his Centurion jersey in his hometown colours.

Bitar is Back: VFC’s Gabriel Bitar picked up where he left off in 2023, registering a goal and an assist in the Eagles’ home opener. The midfielder’s goal became his seventh with VFC and now puts him in sole possession of the franchises’ all-time leading goal scorer, breaking away from Shaan Hundal who also finished 2023 with six goals for VFC.
