After a massive opening-day triumph, Atlético Ottawa returns to action at TD Place this weekend (KO 2pm ET, live on OneSoccer) against Cavalry FC. It’s the return of the ‘Pay What You Can’ match, presented by Atleti Equal Access, and we will be collecting non-perishable food items in support of Lionhearts Inc. and their network of over 70 local community partners tackling food insecurity in the nation’s capital.

Here’s everything you need to know before Saturday’s clash in Ottawa.

Atlético Ottawa is currently in second place in the Canadian Premier League table.

Ottawa beat York United in the ‘Save a Life’ Home Opener last weekend, coming from behind to win 2-1.

New signing Manny Aparicio was the star of the show, with a goal and an assist.

Kris Twardek, of Kinburn, ON, marked his first professional soccer match in his hometown with a winning goal and iconic knee-slide.

Aparicio and Twardek were named to the first CPL ‘Team of the Week’ for this season following their exploits against York.

The ‘Pay What You Can’ match returns this weekend as Atlético hosts back-to-back home matches to kick off the season.

2024 CPL Shield winner Cavalry FC travel to Ottawa having suffered an opening day defeat in Hamilton against Forge FC.

Atlético has also partnered with Lionhearts Inc. for this match, collecting non-perishable food items for their network of 70 local community organizations, tackling food insecurity in Ottawa.

This weekend marks to 100th competitive match in Atlético Ottawa’s history, an important milestone for the club as professional soccer continues to flourish.

Atlético has beaten Cavalry FC more times than any other opposition (8 wins in all competitions).

Cavalry FC won the 2024 CPL Regular season, before losing in the playoff final to Forge FC.

Head Coach Tommy Whealdon Jr.’s side competed against Major League Soccer opposition (Orlando City SC) in the CONCACAF Champions League.
