KANSAS CITY – The Kansas City Current have announced the club’s broadcast partners for the 2024 season. For the third consecutive season, the Current will broadcast select matches locally on KMCI, 38 The Spot. New for this season, the club has partnered with 90.9 The Bridge for radio broadcasts of all 2024 matches. Additionally, Current matches will be available in Spanish and Portuguese on the KC Current App, in partnership with Tico Sports.

“Kansas City loves its sports teams, and we’re thrilled to be working with three partners that share our passion for delivering the best fan experience short of witnessing the action in person,” said Current Vice President of Communications, Dani Welniak. “38 The Spot has been a great TV home for our matches and we’re very excited to add 90.9 The Bridge and Tico Sports to our broadcast family. We want to be the best women’s soccer club in the world so it’s important to us to expand our reach and audience by blazing the trail and offering extensive, unique, and accessible options to listen to and watch our entertaining brand of soccer.”

“It’s no secret Kansas City loves soccer,” said Kathleen Choal, regional vice president for The E.W. Scripps Company and general manager of KSHB and KMCI. “And with the excitement surrounding the new CPKC Stadium, this is an incredible opportunity for our audience, city and region.”

38 The Spot will air eight locally produced games this season, beginning with Sunday’s match against NJ/NY Gotham FC at 4:30 p.m. CT. Select broadcasts will include a 30-minute pregame show, KC Current Matchday, featuring interviews, analysis, and the latest information about the Current to help fans prepare for the exciting action. In addition, 38 The Spot will simulcast all the Current’s matches on the NWSL’s new TV partner, ION, for a total of 15 games in 2024.

Anna Witte will anchor all local broadcasts as the television play-by-play voice of the Current. Witte will be joined by an all-star cast of soccer legends this season, including former U.S. National Team veteran Lori Lindsey, former professional player Jordan Angeli, Emmy-nominated sports broadcaster Kylen Mills and veteran soccer analyst Nick Vasos.

“Building on our success from last season by adding several additional matches that are free and over the air provides a great opportunity for our audience to capture every amazing moment,” said Matthew Waggoner,…
