New England Revolution II News Release
HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – New England Revolution II (1-2-0; 3 pts.) fell to FC Cincinnati 2 (1-2-1; 4 pts.), 2-1, on Wednesday night at NKU Soccer Stadium. Marcos Dias tallied his first goal of the season in the match while Colby Quiñones marked his 80th career appearance with New England after entering as a second half substitute.
For the second match in a row, New England found the scoresheet in the third minute. Following a cross from Patrick Leal, Dias was able to head home a bouncing rebound off an effort from Academy defender Damario McIntosh for his first goal of the season. Dias’ first half tally marked the Brazilian’s 16th career goal with Revolution II, placing him one goal shy of tying the all-time team lead.
Cincinnati equalized in the 19th minute and later took the lead in the 39th minute with two goals from Amir Daley. New England defender Hesron Barry was issued a red card in the 35th minute. Down a man, New England held on defensively to keep the score at 2-1 throughout the second half. Goalkeeper Max Weinstein made five saves in Wednesday’s contest, tying his season high. Offensively, Revolution II had their chances to equalize in the second half, and finished the night with five shots on goal.

Marcos Dias tallied his first goal of the season in the third minute of the match. Dias is now one goal shy of tying the all-time team scoring record (17).
Dias and Joshua Bolma led the team with two shots, including one on target each.
Max Weinstein recorded five saves, tying his season high. The Academy product now owns 12 saves through three consecutive starts this season.
Damario McIntosh earned his third straight MLS NEXT Pro start, logging the full 90 minutes and finishing with a team high two key passes.
Colby Quiñones entered the match in the 46th minute to mark his 80th career appearance with Revolution II, the most in team history.
Homegrown players Malcolm Fry and Tiago Suarez both started Wednesday’s match.
