SAVANNAH, Ga. – South Georgia Tormenta FC, with sponsorship by Broughton Partners, brought to life the TOPSoccer program, which provides soccer education and gameplay to children of all ages with learning disabilities. Since the dawn of the program in 2019, TOPSoccer has provided families with numerous engaging pathways to foster the physical, mental, and emotional development of local youth.

For the 2024 season, Tormenta FC TOPSoccer teamed up with Savannah AMBUCS, the local chapter of National AMBUCS, Inc., which is a nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring participants to conquer challenges surrounding mobility, to improve community options for inclusive sports. This partnership has brought forth a host of new opportunities for the two organizations, including a new baseball league entitled the Little League Challenger Division. The soccer program and brand-new baseball league play concurrently, having a similar schedule to increase convenience for parents.

“Providing children with meaningful memories and opportunities to get involved with sports is what this program is all about,” Brad Nein, the vice president of the Tormenta FC Academy said. “Seeing TOPSoccer expand and grow in the community is about as special as it gets, and I am so happy to see more ways for kids to get involved.”

The flourishing TOPSoccer program kicks off its spring season in April with gameplay across Georgia and South Carolina. Parents can sign up their children ages 4 to 19 to participate and create a lifetime of memories in one of the convenient locations.

The Little League Challenger Division plays at Ambuc Park each Sunday from March through June at 3 p.m. The Little League Challenger Division© was founded in 1989 and is Little League’s adaptive baseball program for individuals with physical and intellectual challenges. Any individual with a physical or intellectual challenge may participate. The Little League Challenger Division accommodates players ages 4 to 15.

On April 7, the AMBUCS Beach’ABLE’ Tybee Day will kickoff both programs with a sunshine-filled celebration. The kickoff will take place on the beach from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm at the 16th Street (Tybrisa) Cross Over beach entrance. The event will come equipped with an area for participants to play soccer and meet new friends. In the evening, there will be a crab race fundraiser at 7:00 pm at Hucapoos on Tybee Island.
