Rodrygo has discussed the possibility of Kylian Mbappe joining Real Madrid‘s riches of attacking players next season, calling it a ‘good problem’ for boss Carlo Ancelotti.
The LaLiga side have reportedly reached an agreement to sign the French star on a free transfer once his PSG deal expires, with a signing-on fee of £85.5million.
Following Real Madrid’s 2-0 win over Athletic Bilbao, in which Rodrygo scored a brace, the Brazilian discussed how the Mbappe’s arrival would impact a team that already boasts a number of attacking players – such as Vinicius Jr, Jude Bellingham, Joselu and Rodrygo himself.
According to Marca, Rodrygo told reporters: ‘Yes, there are many of us [attacking players]. We’ll see what the coach decides. Next year I think it’s a coach’s problem… A good problem. And I’m calm.’
He added that he thought the move was ‘close’, saying: ‘I don’t know about Mbappe yet. I think it’s close because everyone says it and I trust you, but I don’t know what’s going on either.’

On the possibility of his departure to make room for Mbappe, Rodrygo said: ‘I don’t think anything… I’m just thinking about being focused on this season and finishing it well, with as many titles as possible.’
In February, Rodrygo heaped praise on Mbappe, and was eagerly looking forward to the concept of joining forces in the summer.
‘I would love for him to come here. I always want to play with the best players and he is one of the best in the world,’ the Brazilian told AS.
‘I would love to play with him, but I can’t talk too much about him. He’s a PSG player and I have to respect that’.
