GAME NOTES

Lexington SC will be facing off with Greenville Triumph SC for the first time this season. Last season the pair met in three contests, with Greenville holding a 1-0-2 record over the Boys in Green.

Lexington SC has a new man in charge for the 2024 season with Darren Powell taking the reins for the club from interim head coach Nacho Novo. Sam Stockley, the club’s first gaffer, remains in his sporting director role, overseeing all men’s and boy’s soccer with the club.

The match between Lexington SC and Greenville Triumph SC will air on national television, taking place on the CBS Sports Golazo Network. The match marks the first time the Boys in Green will feature on CBS.

Lexington SC has yet to give up a single goal at home all season long, forcing a 0-0 draw against NC Hailstorm FC and shutting out Chattanooga Red Wolves SC in victory.

Leo Castro is the man to watch for Greenville. Castro was one of three goal scorers in Greenville’s 3-1 win over Spokane, netting the third and final goal – or the dagger – for the South Carolina squad. He then turned around and netted the game-winning lone goal in the club’s win over SC United Bantams in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. Castro will be an integral piece of the Greenville attack and it will be paramount that the Boys in Green shut him down.
