Newcastle star Alexander Isak has dropped a major hint about his future at the club and it’s one that will put rival fans on red alert ahead of the transfer window.

The Sweden international has been in superb form for the Magpies throughout the 2023-24 campaign, having scored 12 times from 20 Premier League appearances.

His form in front of goal has caught the attention of a number of Europe’s top teams, including Mikel Arteta‘s Arsenal, who are keen to land a striker in summer. 

Isak has been one of the players reportedly on Arsenal’s radar and their chances of securing him may have just gone up after his recent interview. 

Speaking after Sweden’s victory over Albania on Monday, the forward reflected on rumours that he may leave St James’ Park and admitted that ‘things can happen’.

According to talkSPORT, he said: ‘It doesn’t affect me that much. It has been talked about many times, in many windows.

‘I see it as just such a thing. Everyone knows that summer is coming and, if things show up, things can happen, but I actually haven’t even thought about it.’

Back in the January window of 2022, Arsenal registered significant interest in Isak while he was at Sociedad but failed to reach an agreement with the Spanish club. 

A few months later, Newcastle were able to sign the striker but he’s since remained on Arsenal’s radar. 

Gunners boss admitted earlier this month that his side are in the market for a forward when the summer transfer window rolls around. 

‘The plans that we have for the summer are very clear,’ said Arteta.
