Club
Location in Spokane, WA the Spokane Velocity FC will join the USL League One as an expansion club this season. The club has also committed to launching both a Super League and W League team later in 2024. Spokane’s crest “is designed to pay homage to the intensity of the Spokane Falls and the power of the river that flows through our city,” with the focal point of water being a gathering force.
Players to Watch
Derek Waldeck- The former Triumph defender has moved from One Knoxville to Spokane for 2024. Last season Waldeck appeared in every match for One Knox and started in 29 of them, and was among the team leaders in minutes played, interceptions, tackles won and duels won. Waldeck has made an impact on every team, posing both a defensive stronghold and offensive threat in the width.
Kimarni Smith- Smith will return to the Upstate after playing his college career at Clemson University. As a Tiger, he appeared in 63 matches, recorded 26 goals and 11 assists. His honors include second-team All-America, first-team All-South Region, and first-team All-ACC honors, and ACC Tournament MVP. The Englishman was selected fourth in the 2021 MLS Superdraft, and has played a for several clubs within the MLS and MLS NEXT Pro.
Kits
Spokane Velocity FC have launched the Community Kit for 2024 as both its home and away jerseys. The kit features a unique opportunity for organizations to spend 1 month as a partner, “with a QR Code placement directing fans to a customized landing page that highlights the work they do in their communities, the charities and causes they support, and the people that make their organization hum”. The inaugural kit can be seen in both black and white including the Spokane Falls on the chest.
