Republic FC – The Latest

Republic FC has enjoyed a productive training camp to this point, integrating new players on the squad and building up its match fitness and style of play. In the club’s last preseason friendly match vs. Oakland Roots SC, Sacramento was strong in possession and generated dangerous scoring chances throughout the day, resulting in four scores in two games. This week, the squad will be looking to make its final adjustments ahead of the season opener on March 9.

Each of the four homegrown professionals on this season’s roster has made an impact – forwards Rafael Jauregui and Da’vian Kimbrough combined for seven goals in the club’s seven exhibitions in February, while November signees Blake Willey and Chibi Ukaegbu each recorded assists and showed well in their first pro camp. Their contributions garnered high praise from the club’s coaching staff as the club prepared for the season.

They have a few more days to make tweaks than Sacramento, as their season opener won’t come until March 13, mid-week against El Paso Locomotive FC.
