Arsenal will manage Gabriel Jesus through the season finale to avoid further flare-ups of his persistent knee problems.
The Gunners striker hasn’t played since January 30 due to a knee issue, though he was an unused substitute in Saturday’s win over Newcastle.
And while Jesus is hopeful of making a playing return soon, Mail Sport understands Arsenal medics are taking a cautious approach to his workload to ensure the ongoing knee complaint doesn’t worsen.
Jesus has suffered with fluid in the knee and it is a situation that needs attention in between games.
The Brazil international has been dogged by knee problems since joining Arsenal ahead of last season and those injury concerns are among the factors behind the club’s move to sign a new central striker this summer, with Ivan Toney, Victor Osimhen, Joshua Zirkzee and Viktor Gyokeres among those the Gunners have looked at.

Meanwhile, Arsenal hope Takehiro Tomiyasu and Oleksandr Zinchenko could both be available for Monday’s trip to Sheffield United after recovering from injuries while Thomas Partey is also nearing a full return from groin surgery having been back in training.
