Chicago Fire Foundation to Help Celebrate Grand Opening of North Austin Center

IN 2024 HOME OPENER

The 2024 regular season is officially underway, and the Fire return to the lakefront for the very first time this season this Saturday night.

Chicago Fire FC will host reigning Supporters’ Shield champion FC Cincinnati this Saturday, March 2 at Soldier Field in Chicago. The 11th match between Chicago and Cincinnati will see the Fire don their “Return to Red” kits for the very first time since the 2019 season. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. CT and tickets are available for purchase here . The match will be broadcast live on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV and will be transmitted locally in English on WLS-AM 890 and in Spanish on WRTO 1200 AM.

6 – Six players made their Chicago Fire FC debut last weekend, including recent acquisitions forward Hugo Cuypers and midfielder Kellyn Acosta. Rounding out the debuts in Philadelphia were a trio of defenders: Andrew Gutman, Chase Gasper, Allan Arigoni and forward Tom Barlow.

3 – Homegrown Brian Gutiérrez has recorded three assists in his last three contests against FC Cincinnati. His three assists are tied for the most by any player on both teams since the two sides met for the first time in 2019.

97 – After recording a 90-minute start last weekend against Philadelphia, midfielder Gastón Giménez registred his 97th MLS appearance. The Argentine veteran now sits three appearances from hitting the centennial mark with the Club.

11 – Saturday marks the 11th regular season match between Chicago Fire FC and FC Cincinnati. Additionally, Saturday will be the fifth League match between the two sides at Soldier Field, where the Fire hold a 1-1-2 record against their Eastern Conference foe.
