Riverhounds Announce Six-Game Preseason Schedule

February 22, 2024 – United Soccer League Championship (USL)Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC News Release

The 2005-06 Girls pose for a photo at the ECNL Dallas Showcase, which, for some for the players, was their final ECNL national event before graduation.

Winter college showcases rolled on last weekend, and the eldest three girls teams from the Riverhounds Development Academy headed south once again, this time to Texas for the ECNL Dallas Showcase with games at the Toyota Soccer Center in Frisco and MoneyGram Soccer Park in Dallas from Feb. 17-19.

The Hounds ran into some of their toughest competition yet, and the high level of play drew the eyes of recruiters nationally. The second match was a match as physical and high-quality as could be expected against the Kansas City Athletics, and plenty of eyes were on the game to see Averie Bierker put the Hounds ahead in the second half, but KC equalized soon afterward. The Hounds missed a close-range chance to pull ahead again, and moments later, the Athletics got the winner in a 2-1 game. Sierra Dupre’s play stood out in the loss, but the whole team’s effort deserved recognition in a heartbreaking loss. The team bounced back to end…
