Duke Signee Mary Long Added to Kansas City Training Camp Roster

DURHAM – Duke women’s soccer incoming freshman Mary Long has been added to the preseason training camp roster for the Kansas City Current of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL).

The Current are in Florida at IMG Academy for preseason training camp.  Kansas City has two remaining preseason matches against the Orlando Pride (Feb. 24) and Houston Dash (March 3).

Long signed with Duke this past fall and will join the Blue Devils in August as a freshman.  The Kansas City native reclassified in the fall to graduate high school early and is one of the top midfielders/forwards in the class.  Long is a 2023 ECNL National Finalist and 2021 ECNL National Champion.  She was a 2023 ECNL All-American and three-time selection to the ECNL Midwest Conference First Team.

In Kansas City’s first preseason scrimmage this past weekend, Long played 25 minutes and assisted on former Duke National Player of the Year Michelle Cooper’s goal in the 80th minute of the match.

Kansas City opens the regular season March 16 against the Portland Thorns.
