CHESTER, Pa. – The Philadelphia Union faced Deportivo Saprissa in Round One of the 2024 Concacaf Champions Cup on Tuesday night at Ricardo Saprissa Stadium, securing a hard-fought 3-2 victory. Saprissa took the lead in the 28th minute of the first half. Union forward Julian Carranza responded with goals in the 55th, 75th, and 77th minutes, completing his first Concacaf Champions Cup hat trick. With the goals, Carranza now ties forward Kacper Przybylko for the most career Concacaf Champions Cup goals, both having scored five. The second-leg of the Concacaf Champions Cup will be played on Tuesday, February 27, when the Union will host Deportivo Saprissa at Subaru Park.


The Union kick off MLS play on Saturday, February 24, where they will face Chicago Fire FC at Subaru Park (7:30 p.m. ET / Apple TV).
