STATESBORO, Ga. – South Georgia Tormenta FC is proud to donate a host of branded merchandise to the Bulloch County Boys & Girls Club with a retail value of more than $25,000. Items donated at the January 17 event include jerseys, duffel bags, sweatpants, shirts, jackets, and socks. Bolt the Ibis, the team’s mascot, was excited to hand deliver the merchandise and spend some time kicking the soccer ball around with the children.
With an academy league serving more than 1000 children and their families, South Georgia Tormenta FC dedicates itself to serving the youth in the Statesboro community and surrounding areas. Each child at the Bulloch County Boys & Girls Club will have the opportunity to sport their own gear going into the 2024 soccer season.
“The Boys & Girls Club makes positive and lasting impacts on children in our community. It is a lifeline to many families in need too. We are so happy to be able to donate Tormenta FC items of new clothing and new gear to children. We hope this donation will bring a little joy to each child and to each staff member. Helping to support their ability to shine, learn, and grow is our desire,” Co-Owner of South Georgia Tormenta FC Netra R. Van Tassell said.
In December when Tormenta FC launched its Season of Giving Sale, the organization made a promise to the Bulloch County Boys & Girls Club to make an in-kind donation of merchandise matching the dollar amount that fans spent during the sale.
Bolt the Ibis and the front office staff of South Georgia Tormenta FC are excited to continue deepening relationships with the Statesboro community and are proud to have the children of the Boys & Girls Club representing their team with their new gear. The USL League One team begins its season on March 9 and will play into late October with many opportunities for players and fans alike to have unique experiences on and off the field.
