Quakes fall in second Coachella Valley Invitational match

INDIO, Calif. – The San Jose Earthquakes fell to Charlotte FC 1-0 on Wednesday afternoon at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, in their second preseason game at the 2024 Coachella Valley Invitational. The Earthquakes controlled possession early on but conceded in the 37th minute. Shortly after, forward Benji Kikanović hit the crossbar just before halftime. The second half was scoreless.


The Quakes will play their final Coachella Valley Invitational match against the Portland Timbers on Feb. 14, followed by a closed-door friendly against Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Feb. 17. The team then returns to San Jose to prepare for the regular season opener on Feb. 24 in Dallas.
