Miami, FL. –
The Miami Football Club announced today the signing of midfielder Andrew Booth.
Coming off a successful season with Charleston Battery reaching the USL Championship Final, Booth returns to South Florida to continue his career with Miami FC. Booth, who signed with Charleston in 2022, has 51 appearances for the club, tallying six goals and four assists over his two seasons with the team.
“I’m excited to be back in South Florida and playing so close to home. It’s also nice to be back at FIU where I played college soccer,” said Booth. “In 2024, I’m excited for a fresh start, the majority of the team and staff are new as well so it will be a positive challenge to create a cohesive unit.”
Prior to moving up to the USL Championship, Booth played for Greenville Triumph SC in League One. While in South Carolina, the midfielder scored three goals and four assists. In 2020, Booth won the USL League One regular season and the USL League One Cup with Greenville.
Born in Tamarac, Florida, Booth attended Florida International University. He played four seasons for the Panthers from 2016 – 2019. The midfielder has 64 college appearances and chalked up seven goals and nine assists in that time. Following his junior and senior seasons, Booth earned all-conference-honors, and his senior season performance earned Booth Conference USA Midfielder of the Year.
“On a personal level, I just want to help the team in any way I can and try to have a positive impact on the way we play,” continued Booth.
Internationally, the midfielder was called up to the Jamaica U-20 National Team training camp in February 2016.
