Tottenham are seeking to avenge their defeat at the AMEX Stadium when they host Brighton in the Premier League on Saturday.

The injury-riddled Seagulls overcame a weary Spurs on the south coast just after Christmas, racing into a 4-0 lead before the visitors scored two consolations late on.

Ange Postecoglou’s squad has been strengthened by winter arrivals and returning stars from injury, but they haven’t been able to sustain a run in 2024 thus far. They were deservedly pegged back by Everton last time out, dropping two points following Jarrad Branthwaite’s late equaliser.

Still, they’re in a pretty good position in the Premier League table. Spurs are fifth, just two points behind fourth-place Aston Villa and nine ahead of Saturday’s opponents. Brighton scored a much-needed victory at the weekend, thumping their hapless rivals Crystal Palace 4-1 on home soil.

Their first win of 2024 has reignited some optimism on the south coast, with Roberto De Zerbi enduring some issues during his first full season at the helm.

Here’s 90min’s preview of Saturday’s Premier League bout.
