PITTSBURGH – Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC will treat fans to a fun, exciting array of promotions during its 25th anniversary season in 2024, with limited-edition giveaways and top national halftime acts headlining the 17-game promotional schedule at Highmark Stadium.
Fans who love giveaways are in luck from the Hounds’ home opener against Orange County SC on Saturday, March 16, when the team will hand out light-up thundersticks and a mini-banner celebrating the club’s 2023 Players’ Shield win. Other items on the schedule include a Kenardo Forbes Bobblehead night on June 1, a Squish Amo during Mascot Mania on May 4, a Hounds “Mount Rushmore” on July 13, and a puzzle mosaic giveaway on Oct. 12.
Returning to Highmark Stadium to entertain fans of all ages are the Zooperstars, who will bring their comic antics and dancing back to the field on July 27. The Hounds have rounded up some great new acts, as well, including a pair of “America’s Got Talent” veterans – Wild West-style trick roper and Cirque du Soleil performer Loop Rawlins on April 6 and 12-year-old magician/ventriloquist Brynn Cummings on Aug. 10. The Hounds will wrap up the summer by welcoming the daring chainsaw juggling display of Mad Chad Taylor on Sept. 7.
Still to be announced is the list of stars for the second year of the Hounds Celebrity Series, where fans will have a chance to meet and greet some fo their classic favorites on May 18, June 19, July 6 and Aug. 17, but there’s no mystery about when fans can come early for the always popular $1 Beers promotion – that will be prior to kickoff on April 27, July 20, Sept. 28 and the season finale on Oct. 26.
Popular theme nights are also returning, such as Fan Appreciation Night for the home finale, Hispanic Heritage Night on Sept. 28, and of course, the celebration of the second full class to enter the Riverhounds Hall of Fame – inductees to be announced this Spring – on July 13.
