Bayern Munich predicted lineup vs Borussia Monchengladbach

Bayern Munich’s hunt for Bayer Leverkusen and the Bundesliga title continues with a home clash against struggling Borussia Monchengladbach.

Thomas Tuchel’s side have been in the headlines constantly over the past week. The coach has been repeatedly linked with the Barcelona job while struck down with flu, putting his touchline presence in doubt, while a serious injury crisis has developed during a busy transfer window.

These circumstances make it harder than usual to pick a starting lineup and Tuchel may have some long nights ahead figuring out the best combination of available players for what could be a tough match that requires patience and clinical attacks.

Here’s the lineup Tuchel may choose for Bayern Munich against Borussia Monchengladbach on Saturday.

GK: Manuel Neuer – Gave away a penalty in bizarre fashion last time out as he came for a corner and punched someone in the back of the head, but then saved it. Neuer’s always been an entertainer.

RB: Sacha Boey – A new signing who seems to have arrived just in time, Boey is expected to make his Bayern debut at right back with Konrad Laimer and Joshua Kimmich injured and Noussair Mazraoui only just back from AFCON.

CB: Matthijs de Ligt – Tuchel needs Dutchman De Ligt to stay fit. He is set to play a lot of games between now and the end of the season with Dayot Upamecano out.

CB: Eric Dier – Dier has a short space of time to impress before Kim Min-jae comes back from the Asian Cup, so he needs to ensure there are no mistakes here.

LB: Alphonso Davies – Those Real Madrid rumours just won’t go away, but Davies seems focused given he scored in the win over Augsburg last weekend with his weaker right foot.

CM: Leon Goretzka – Another player Tuchel really needs to keep fit, Goretzka has a lot of responsibility in the midfield at the moment.

CM: Aleksandar Pavlovic – The young midfielder is suddenly a starter thanks to Kimmich and Laimer’s injuries and grabbed his first goal against Augsburg. Now he must build on that performance.

RW: Leroy Sane – Must be more prolific if he is to become one of Europe’s elite attackers, but Sane is still operating at a really high level and will be a danger to Monchengladbach.

AM: Jamal Musiala – Despite still being just 20 years old, Musiala is one of the first names on the Bayern team-sheet, even if everyone is fit. That is an immense achievement.

LW: Mathys Tel – Kingsley Coman is…
