14 Blue Devils Earn All-ACC Academic Team Honors


DURHAM – The Duke men’s soccer team placed 14 players on the 2023 All-ACC Academic Team, as announced by the league on Thursday.

The Blue Devils’ 14 selections consisted of Kamran Acito, Ulfur Bjornsson, Amir Daley, Julian Eyestone, Wayne Frederick, Kenan Hot, Bull Jorgensen, Cameron Kerr, Drew Kerr, Antino Lopez, Ruben Mesalles, Nick Pariano, Miguel Ramirez and Luke Thomas.

With the selections, Lopez, Mesalles and Pariano make their third appearance on the All-ACC Academic Team. Acito, Frederick, Hot, Cameron Kerr, Drew Kerr, Ramirez and Thomas are now all two-time All-ACC Academic selections.

Bjornsson, Daley, Eyestone and Jorgensen each earn their first All-ACC Academic recognition.

Pittsburgh led the league with 18 total selections, Clemson registered the second-most with 15 while Duke and Notre Dame each tallied 14. Garrison Tubbs of Wake Forest was named the 2023 ACC Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

Academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0-grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one’s academic career. In addition, student-athletes must compete in at least 50 percent of their team’s contests.
