Ange Postecoglou admits he is not expecting to add to his Tottenham squad before the transfer deadline on Thursday.

Spurs moved quickly in the mid-season market to sign forward Timo Werner on loan from Leipzig and centre-half Radu Dragusin for £26.7million from Genoa, which makes them among the most active of Premier League clubs in a very slow window.

There has been interest in Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher since the summer but the chances of this deal have receded again with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg determined not to leave Tottenham this month.

‘Looks unlikely I’d say,’ said Postecoglou on the subject of any other business. ‘I don’t see any incomings. Outgoings a little bit different because I’m not totally engaged with that, other people are doing the work around that.

‘I’d say unlikely on both fronts without ruling anything out.’

Pape Matar Sarr should be back at Tottenham’s training ground on Wednesday and available for the trip to Everton on Saturday after Senegal were knocked out of the Africa Cup of Nations by Ivory Coast on Monday.

‘Disappointed for him because Senegal had ambitions to win the competition,’ said Postecoglou. ‘But he did well for them again, he’s a key member and from our side it’s good to get him back. He should be fine for Saturday after arrival.’

Meanwhile, Spurs winger Manor Solomon has suffered another setback, however, in his return from a knee injury.

‘He has had a couple of goes at it but fair to say he’s had a couple of setbacks,’ said Postecoglou. ‘He had one this week as well so he’s getting further investigation on it I think early next week.’

Tottenham face Brentford at home on Wednesday.
