Tottenham midfielder Pierre Emile Hojbjerg is wanted by Lyon but they may fall short on his valuation.
Hojbjerg is behind Rodrigo Bentancur and Yves Bissouma in the No 6 pecking order at Spurs, meaning just six of his 22 appearances this season have been starts.
The 28-year-old’s current contract expires next year and the north London club may be looking to cash in before then.
The Danish international also wants more game time ahead of Euro 2024 this summer.
Lyon have endured a miserable campaign so far and have been active in the transfer window as they look to climb out of the Ligue 1 relegation zone.

They aren’t the only ones with the player also reportedly being monitored by Newcastle as the Magpies look to bolster their midfield.
Newcastle are keen to add to that area this month but may need to look to a short-term fix to satisfy spending rules unless sales are made.

Hojbjerg made the £15million move to Tottenham from Southampton in 2020.
The 28-year-old has made 165 appearances for Tottenham but has seen his influence diminish in recent years, particularly under Ange Postecoglou.
