Brentford close in on £25m signing of Club Brugge winger Antonio Nusa, with youngster promised first-team football next season… as Bees look set to beat Tottenham to land wonderkid

The Norway international has been subject to great interest from Spurs, Brentford and Chelsea

  •  Brentford have secured the signing of Norway international Antonio Nusa
  •  The 18-year-old is the second youngest scorer in Champions League history
  •  Nusa has three goals and three assists in 26 appearances for Club Bruges

Brentford will offer Antonio Nusa instant first team football next season as they close in on clinching £25.6million swoop for the Club Brugge forward.

Nusa was in talks with Tottenham over a move to north London, but Brentford have moved ahead of their rivals and are now set to land the 18-year-old.

And it is understood Brentford were willing to offer Nusa greater guarantees of first team action as they tried to persuade the player to choose them ahead of Spurs.

Nusa is set to stay in Belgium on loan until the end of the season once his move to Brentford is completed.

But once he arrives in west London next season, the club are expected to give him a big opportunity to play regular senior football.

Tottenham were very close to landing Nusa, but the attacker believes his pathway into first team football will be less restrictive at Brentford.

Sources have also indicated that moving to Spurs, a club expected to challenge for Champions League qualification, may prove too big a step in his development.
