Forward Madison FC Unveils 2023 Preseason Schedule

MADISON, WI: Forward Madison has released its 2024 preseason schedule, consisting of four games to be played around the Midwest. The ‘Mingos are set to play their first matchup in Minnesota against the Minnesota United MLS Next Pro (MNUFC2) team on Friday, February 16th, a couple weeks after the players return to Madison on February 1st. Last season, MNUFC2 finished eighth in the Group B standings with a record of 10-10-8.


Forward Madison will then travel to Chicago to play the Chicago Fire MLS Next Pro squad on Friday, February 23rd. Chicago Fire II advanced to the first round of MLS Next Pro Playoffs and finished the 2023 season with a record of 14-14-0. Last preseason, the ‘Mingos defeated Chicago Fire II 3-1.

On Friday, March 1st, Forward will travel to Indianapolis to play USL Championship team, Indy Eleven, for the third preseason match. Indy Eleven ended the 2023 season in sixth place and a record of 13-11-10.

The final preseason match for the ‘Mingos will be in Missouri on March 9th against the St. Louis City MLS Next Pro squad, who had a 11-8-9 record for 2023.

Head Coach, Matt Glaeser, is entering his third season with the club and is looking to lead the ‘Mingos to a USL League One championship. FMFC have 12 returners from the 2023 roster, and have added key newcomers such as Juan Galindrez, Devin Boyce, John Murphy, Jimmie Villalobos, Michael Chilaka, and Cherif Dieye.
