January 24, 2024 – United Soccer League One (USL1) – Greenville Triumph SC News Release
Defender Oliver Hald joins the Triumph with several teams under his belt, beginning in his home country of Denmark. In 2020, he appeared in the Denmark 1. Division as an academy player before moving to the United States to continue his career at:
2021 All-American Muskegon Community College
2021-2022 University of Evansville
2023 Southern Methodist University
2023 USL 2 Texas United FC
While at Muskegon, the All-American played a pivotal role in achieving several milestones for the team, including scoring the first goal in program history and leading the Jayhawks to their first NJCAA National Tournament appearance. Before joining the Mustangs at SMU, he continued his defensive career at Evansville, where he logged the most minutes in the Missouri Valley Conference two years in a row. At SMU, Hald started in all 19 games, seeing 1,684 minutes of play and helped hold down the defensive line for the team all the way to the Sweet Sixteen.
“Oliver is one of the best passers in the college game. He’ll have a great opportunity here to showcase his qualities and excitement he brings to the game.”
Greenville Triumph Head Coach, Rick Wright
The Denmark native will continue his run in the USL with a move up to League One with the Triumph for first professional season, pending league and federation approval.
