KANSAS CITY – The Kansas City Current announced the team’s latest Teal Tuesday partner, High Hopes Ice Cream, in CPKC Stadium. The local small business was named Kansas City’s Favorite Ice Cream Shop by the Kansas City Star in 2023. Fans can look forward to enjoying the brand’s signature ice cream flavors on match days.
Media and fans are invited to visit High Hopes Ice Cream for a Teal Tuesday Takeover today from 12-1 pm at High Hopes Ice Cream located at 5536 Troost Ave. Ste. A, Kansas City, MO 64110.
“High Hopes Ice Cream will scoop top tier flavors as we cheer on the KC Current,” said CPKC Stadium chef partners Megan and Colby Garrelts. “Get excited for spring and summer selections specific for the pitch. Nothing pairs better during the warmer seasons like hand-crafted ice cream and professional women’s soccer!”
After opening the small business in the midst of Covid in 2020, High Hopes has flourished, being named a Small Business Superstar by the KC Chamber of Commerce and a NextDoor Neighborhood Fave in 2023. As the city shut down and the pandemic was in full effect, owner Jamie Howard decided it was now or never to pursue the endless creative outlet of making ice cream. Against all odds Howard credits the community and the city for making her dream an award-winning reality.
“As a female business owner and mom of two beautiful girls, it is an honor to be a part of the first stadium purpose-built for women’s sports in the world,” said High Hopes owner Jamie Howard. “We’re so excited to bring our ice cream for the best soccer fans in the world to try!”
Fans can find High Hopes in the northwest corner of CPKC Stadium, serving two signature flavors: Bourbon Butter Pecan Ice Cream and Cookies and Cream Ice Cream. They are also working on including one Kansas City Current exclusive flavor which will be unveiled at a later date.
