Manchester United midfielder Dan Gore, 19, is closing on a loan move to League One side Port Vale until the end of the season.
Gore has made his first-team breakthrough at United this season, featuring as a substitute against Aston Villa in the Premier League and Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup.
However, there is an acceptance that Gore needs regular competitive games in order to push on.
As well as Port Vale, Bolton Wanderers, Blackpool, Shrewsbury Town and Fleetwood were also understood to have expressed an interest in Gore.

United have already loaned out seven players during the January transfer window so far.
Jadon Sancho returned to Borussia Dortmund on loan, while Donny van de Beek headed to Eintracht Frankfurt.
Elsewhere, Joe Hugill is at Burton Albion, with Hannibal Mejbri having joined Sevilla on loan.
Alvaro Fernandez was loaned to Benfica after returning from Granada.
Maxi Oyedele, meanwhile, is on loan at Forest Green Rovers and Rhys Bennett is at Stockport County.
