Philadelphia Union Acquire up to $800,000 in Allocation Money from New York City FC

CHESTER, Pa. – Philadelphia Union announced today that the club has acquired a guaranteed $650,000 in General Allocation Money from New York City FC in exchange for midfielder Andres Perea. The Union will receive $350,000 in 2024 GAM, $300,000 in 2025 GAM, and an additional $150,000 if certain performance conditions are met.


“We want to thank Andres for his contributions to the club last season,” said Sporting Director Ernst Tanner. “He is a young, talented player and has adapted well to New York’s style of play while on loan. This is the best move for the player at this time for his continued development and to be able to maintain his meaningful role with NYCFC. We wish him all the best.”

The Union acquired Perea from Orlando City SC on December 6, 2022. In his 2023 campaign he made eight appearances and scored one goal against Orlando on September 10, before being loaned to NYCFC on July 23, 2023.

TRANSACTION: Philadelphia Union acquire guaranteed $350,000 in 2024 GAM, $300,000 in 2025 GAM, and an additional $150,000 in GAM if certain performance conditions are met, in exchange for midfielder Andres Perea to New York City FC on January 15, 2024.
