Radu Dragusin slots in at the back next to returning Micky Van de Ven while Timo Werner plays on the left… but who will join him in attack? How Tottenham could line up against Man United with several players missing

Tottenham travel to Manchester United on Sunday and Ange Postecoglou could play a slightly different starting line up ahead of the game

Ange Postecoglou has certainly been busy in the first couple of weeks of the January transfer window.

Tottenham also have a busy fortnight ahead that includes a trip to Old Trafford to take on Man United this weekend, before hosting Man City in the FA Cup the week after.

The north London outfit have toiled with a mounting injury list this season and their squad could be stretched a little further with several players also set to depart for international competitions in the next few months.

But it seems Postecoglou’s side are keen to get their busines done early in the transfer window in a bid to help alleviate the pressure on their team.

On Tuesday the club announced the signing of ex-Chelsea star Timo Werner on loan from Red Bull Leipzig on a deal that will see the club pay the remainder of his salary for this season, which equates to around £4.5million.

Meanwhile, they’ve also bolstered their squad depth in defence, with Spurs now on the cusp of signing centre-back Radu Dragusin from Genoa in a deal that could see young star Djed Spence move in the other direction.

Their additions come as Spurs have also suffered several injury set backs this season, particularly to key defenders.

New signing Micky van de Ven has been ruled out since November with a hamstring injury but could be set to make his return this weekend after being named on the bench for their FA Cup victory against Burnley.

Cristian Romero, meanwhile, suffered a hamstring strain during Tottenham’s 2-1 win against Everton but there is some optimism that he is targeting a return against Man United, much sooner than expected.

They will be without Ben Davies for a while too, after he suffered a soft tissue injury against Burnley.

Adding to that, Son Heung-min is set to be unavailable until February as he takes part in the Asia Cup with South Korea. Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr will also be unavailable as they join up with their national sides for the Africa Cup of Nations.
