Nabet Re-Signs with Angel City Football Club

DURHAM – The Angel City Football Club (ACFC) announced Monday that former Duke women’s soccer standout Lily Nabet has re-signed with the club through the 2025 campaign.  A native of Los Angeles, Calif., Nabet was selected as the 36th overall pick in the 2022 NWSL Draft ahead of ACFC’s inaugural season.

“I am super excited to be with Angel City for another two years,” said Nabet.  “This club is nothing short of amazing and I am so happy that I get to continue to represent my hometown.  I feel incredibly grateful to continue growing as a player and person with this amazing group. I’m ready to compete for a championship for this city.”

Since joining ACFC, Nabet has appeared in 21 matches for the club after her debut on June 3, 2022 against the Portland Thorns FC. Earning a total of 419 minutes on the pitch in 2023, Nabet completed 127 successful passes in the midfield, earning a 77.0 percent success rate, while also compiling six interceptions.

“Lily is part of Angel City history as one of our first-ever draft picks and we are so happy she is staying with us for the next two years,” said ACFC General Manager Angela Hucles Mangano. “Her growth over our first two seasons is a testament to how hard she works every day at training and how dedicated she is to helping this team win. We look forward to seeing another one of our hometown players thrive on and off the field.”

A 2021 Duke graduate, Nabet finished her Blue Devil career with 55 starts in 86 matches, ultimately logging 5,111 minutes. She opted to use an additional year of eligibility granted by the NCAA due to the COVID-19 pandemic and helped lead Duke to the NCAA Elite Eight.  Over her career, Nabet guided Duke to 76 victories, one appearance in the NCAA College Cup (2017) and an ACC Regular Season title with a perfect 10-0 ledger in 2017.
