Liverpool have rebuffed an enquiry from Rangers for left-back Owen Beck.

The 21-year-old great nephew of former Liverpool striker Ian Rush has just been recalled from an impressive loan spell with Dundee.

However, Liverpool need him as cover for Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas.

Klopp’s side recalled Wales U21 left-back Beck from his loan at Dundee, despite making 20 appearances for the Scottish Premiership club.

Beck also earned his first call-up to the senior Wales squad during his time north of the border, but is now needed to cover the injury absences of Robertson and Tsimikas.

Robertson has returned to the training pitch after surgery on a dislocated shoulder in October, but faces a battle to play this month.

Meanwhile Tsimikas suffered a broken collarbone in Liverpool’s draw with Arsenal on December 23.

Beck paid tribute to the Dundee fans for their support during his stay, and pledged to return to The Scot Foam Stadium to watch the team in action in the absence of getting to bid a ‘proper farewell’.
