Defender Rashid Tetteh Returns to FC Tulsa for the 2024 Season

FC Tulsa to Host Three Development Camps in 2023 for 6-14 Year Olds

TULSA – Defender Rashid Tetteh is set to make a triumphant return to FC Tulsa for the much anticipated 2024 USL Championship season after being signed with the club for the 2023 season.

During the 2023 season, Tetteh’s commanding presence on the field was exemplified by an imposing 2,348 minutes of play, featuring 31 matches and starting in 25.


“I’m excited to be returning to the club for the 2024 season and looking forward to seeing everyone and getting to work to continue and be part of what we started building in Tulsa.” Tetteh said.

Tetteh’s defensive ability was a cornerstone of FC Tulsa’s success in 2023 as he ranked second on the team in both clearances and interceptions boasting an impressive 90 clearance and 26 interceptions.

Additionally, he secured the top spot on the team tallying 27 blocks. In defensive battles, Tetteh won 24 out of 39 tackles with a success rate of 61.5%

Beyond defensive contributions, Tetteh level of accuracy is indicative of technical skill showcasing Tetteh as a well-rounded player with a pass accuracy of 86%.

“We are excited to have Rashid back as he became an integral piece to the team,” Head Coach Blair Gavin said, “His ability to make the game look calm on both sides of the ball will be crucial in how we want to play moving forward.”

Tetteh kick started his professional career signing with New Mexico United in 2019 where he appeared in 29 league matches and finished third on New Mexico’s roster with 2,570 minutes played.

Over three seasons, Tetteh amassed 83 regular season appearances, complemented with four U.S. Open Cup outings.

Tetteh appeared five times in 2018 for Des Moines Menace of the USL League Two during his college’s soccer offseason. During 2016 and 2017 again during the college soccer offseason, Teeth appeared 22 times combined in both stints for the Carolina Dynamo of the USL League Two.

Tetteh played four season at High Point University with 69 appearance while being named to the Big South All-Freshman team (2015), Big South First Team All-Conference (2018), Big South co-Defensive Player of the Year (2017), All-Big South First Team (2017), and All-Big South Second Team (2016).
