Sidekicks Fall 4-12 in Saturday Night Game

Mesquite, Texas – The Dallas Sidekicks went down the road to Mesquite on Saturday night to face the Texas Outlaws for the second time this season. The previous matchup was at home in Allen and the Sidekicks won in overtime 8-7.


The Outlaws scored early in the first quarter with the goal by Luiz Morales. After a blue card from Sidekicks player, Kristian Quintana, in the nineth minute, the Outlaws took advantage of this and scored on the power play by Luiz Morales, again. A minute later, Outlaws player, Sebastian Mendez scored. After another power play for the Outlaws, they scored again on the man advantage with the goal by Vinicius Dantas.

Even though all goals in the quarter were Outlaws goals, the Sidekicks struggled to find the back of the net. Sidekicks player, Albert Rodriguez finally found the net late into the first quarter. To end the first quarter the score was 1-4.

Three minutes into the second quarter, Sidekicks player, Blas Pérez, scored his first goal of the game. About a minute later, Vinicius Dantas scored his second of the game. The Sidekicks kept together defensively until the 12-minute mark, when Outlaws player, Jorge Deleon. Two minutes later, Sidekicks player, Flavio Guzman, obtained a blue card and quickly got given a red card after a misconduct happened after the play. During the tussle, Blas Pérez and Outlaws player, David Ortiz were given yellow cards for unsportsmanlike conduct. Going into halftime, the score was 2-6.

In the third quarter, Sidekicks started off strong with a goal by Jamie Lovegrove at the five-minute mark and a minute later, Nestor Hernandez, scored making the game 4-6. However, a Sidekicks comeback did not happen. At the 13-minute mark, Luiz Morales scored on the power play completing his hat trick.

Outlaws dominated the fourth quarter scoring four more goals to add to their lead. The first goal in the fourth was scored by Andy Reyes. During the fourth, the Sidekicks pulled Juan Gamboa for Jamie Lovegrove as sixth attacker. David Ortiz and Mike Jones both scored during the sixth attacker. At the 13-minute mark, Lucas Ramalho scored the last goal of the game making the final score 4-12.
