West Ham forward Michail Antonio has told Jurgen Klopp to ‘bring the money’ if he wants to sign Jarrod Bowen.

Liverpool boss Klopp spoke highly of Bowen this week, describing the England international as his ‘favourite player’ outside of his own squad.

Reacting to Klopp’s comments, Antonio said that Liverpool will have to pay a significant fee if they are to sign Bowen, especially given that he signed a new contract in October that is set to run until 2030.

Antonio also joked that Klopp could be preparing to let Mohamed Salah leave if he wants to sign Bowen given that they are both mainly right wingers.

Speaking on the Footballer’s Football Podcast, Antonio said: ‘Jurgen Klopp said before the game that Jarrod Bowen is his favourite player in the league other than his own players. I think he’s trying to lay those seeds man, he wants Jarrod.’

Antonio continued: ‘He can lay the seeds all he likes mate. The man has just signed a seven year deal bro, if he wants that, he can bring the money. Who’s he going to replace, obviously he plays on the right? Are you hinting at something here? Are you letting Salah go yeah?’.

Klopp was full of praise for Bowen before Liverpool’s 5-1 win over West Ham in the Carabao Cup in midweek.

Klopp told Sky Sports: ‘They are good again, through in Europe, it’s really impressive. Injuries issues as well. Playing without Antonio, and Bowen steps up in that position.

‘[He is] probably my favourite player besides all my players I have to say. It’s great what he is doing and how he has developed.’

Although it was a hugely disappointing night for West Ham, Bowen still managed to get on the scoresheet at Anfield, providing Klopp with another indication of his ability.
