Atlanta United Acquires up to $275,000 in General Allocation Money from D.C. United

ATLANTA – Atlanta United announced today it has acquired up to $275,000 in General Allocation Money from D.C. United in exchange for Homegrown defender Garrison Tubbs. Atlanta receives $125,000 in 2024 GAM and will receive up to $150,000 in additional GAM if performance-based metrics are met. Atlanta also retains a sell-on percentage for Tubbs.


Tubbs, 21, came through the Atlanta United Academy before spending the past four seasons at Wake Forest University where he played in 68 matches, including 66 starts. During the 2023 season, the center back was named a First-Team All-American, the ACC Defensive Player of the Year and a MAC Hermann Trophy finalist. The Brunswick, Georgia native was a member of Atlanta United’s U-17s and U-19s and also played 12 matches with Atlanta United 2 in the USL Championship, making his professional debut on July 28, 2019.
