National-Best Four Academic All-Americans – Stanford University Athletics

STANFORD, Calif. – A national-best four Stanford women’s soccer players have been named College Sports Communicators Academic All-Americans, it was announced on Wednesday.

Senior Ryan Campbell and graduate student Kennedy Wesley earned spots on the first team, followed by sophomore Jasmine Aikey on the second team and fifth-year player Maya Doms on the third team.

Campbell carries a 3.88 GPA as a communications major, while Wesley is completing a co-term with degrees in psychology and sociology while managing better than a 3.5 GPA in both pursuits.

Aikey, who will declare a major at the end of this academic year, sports a 3.93 GPA, while Doms has compiled a 3.65 GPA in pursuit of a degree in human biology.

The four selections are the most of any Division I program, ahead of Penn State’s three, and eclipsed Stanford’s prior program record of three honorees in 2010. This year also marks the first time in program history that the Cardinal has placed two players on the Academic All-America first team.

Campbell was previously named a first-team Scholar All-American according to United Soccer Coaches. The 2023 Pac-12 Goalkeeper of the Year, Campbell also earned a spot on the United Soccer Coaches All-Region first team. The All-Pac-12 first team selection started 23 of Stanford’s 25 matches and allowed just 13 goals while making 60 saves – compiling a 16-1-4 record while recording 11 solo shutouts and combining on two more clean sheets. Ranked first in the Pac-12 in goals against average (0.601) and save percentage (.822), Campbell finished the season ranked 16th in the nation in goals against average. Her 11 shutouts led the Pac-12, placed eighth nationally and ranked eighth in Stanford history for a single season.

Wesley, named to TopDrawerSoccer’s Best XI first team, was a United Soccer Coaches All-Region third team pick and landed on the All-Pac-12 first team. A two-time Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week, Wesley started all 25 matches at center defender, logging 2182:30 minutes and helping guide Stanford to 14 shutouts while limiting opponents to just .60 goals per game on 9.60 shots per game. Turning in an all-around season, she scored four goals and added six assists to finish with 14 points. A staple of the back line, Wesley played 70-plus minutes in 23 of the 25 matches played, including full time in 19 of the 25.

Aikey joined Wesley on the TopDrawerSoccer Best XI first team and was a semifinalist for the MAC Hermann Trophy. The United Soccer Coaches…
