STANFORD, Calif. – Three Cardinal were named Academic All-Americans, the College Sports Communicators announced on Tuesday. Mark Fisher and Will Reilly were named second team selections while Zach Bohane earned a spot on the third team.

The trio guided Stanford’s offense to the top of the charts in 2023, as the team averaged 2.89 assists per game for the third-best mark in the NCAA. The Cardinal also ranked third in total assists (55), sixth in total points (141), seventh in points per game (7.42), ninth in goal differential (+26), ninth in scoring offense (2.26), 10th in total goals (43), and 18th in won-lost-tied percentage (0.711).

A senior and team captain for the 2023 season, Fisher guided the Cardinal to its best finish in the NCAA tournament since 2019, concluding in the quarterfinals. The team’s run included a 3-0 victory over No. 1 seed Marshall in Huntington, West Virginia.  An All-Pac-12 second team selection, Fisher was also selected as a United Soccer Coaches All-Far West region first team honoree and a United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-American. 

Also a two-time CSC Academic All-District selection, three-time Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll honoree, Fisher has had a tremendous career in the classroom on The Farm. He is set to graduate with a GPA of 3.85 and a degree in Bioengineering.

Reilly, a midfielder studying Symbolic Systems set career-high marks in goals (4), assists (7), and points (15) this season. The Decatur, Georgia native boasts a 3.94 GPA.

Bohane, a sophomore midfielder, had a tremendous season for the Cardinal, leading the team in goals, assists, and points. His  27 points were the most for a Cardinal since Foster Langsdorf’s 34 in 2017, and his 11 assists are the most for a Stanford player since 2015 (Corey Baird & Eric Verso – 13). He earned All-Pac-12 first team honors, United Soccer Coaches All-Far-West region honors, and was named the Top Drawer Soccer National Player of the Week (8/28).
