Women’s Soccer | December 19, 2023

LOS ANGELES – Top Drawer Soccer released its postseason awards recently and USC’s Maribel Flores was named to the Freshman All-America second team.

Flores, who showed herself to be one of the top offensive rookies in the country this season, was also named the Pac-12 Freshman of the Year and to the Pac-12 All-Freshman Team.

Flores posted six goals and provided five assists for a total of 17 points over the course of the 2023 campaign. Her six goals scored were tied for the team lead and led all freshmen in the conference. Her five assists were tied for 15th in the Pac-12 and her 17 points were 11th in the league. Flores appeared in 18 games for USC this year, missing just one contest due to a camp call-up by the Mexican U-20 squad.

She posted points in eight games, putting up a career high four points against New Mexico State with one goal and two assists, earning herself Pac-12 Player of the Week on 9/18.

Flores is the first Trojan to earn Freshman All-American honors (equivalent to TDS Best XI) since Brooklyn Courtnall and Simone Jackson in 2021. She is the 16th Trojan overall to earn the distinction.
