San Diego Wave FC Announces Multi-Year Partnership with AlterG

San Diego Wave FC announced today that the club has acquired forward Elyse Bennett from Utah Royals FC. In exchange, Utah will receive $40,000 in allocation money.

“We are excited to welcome Elyse Bennett to the Wave,” said San Diego Wave FC General Manager Molly Downtain. “She is a young and dynamic player that is a threat in the attacking third and is an important addition to the team as we continue to build for the 2024 season.”


Bennett, 23, arrives in San Diego after spending last season with OL Reign. The Illinois native made 22 appearances (seven starts) and scored two goals in her first season for Seattle. Originally drafted by Kansas City Current with the seventh overall pick in the 2022 NWSL Draft, Bennett appeared in 24 matches (six starts) with three goals in her rookie campaign.
