OL Reign Re-Signs Defender Ryanne Brown Through 2024 Season

SEATTLE, WA. – OL Reign has re-signed defender Ryanne Brown through the 2024 NWSL season, the club announced today. Per league and club policy, the financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“Ryanne was a significant and critical contributor in 2023 and proved she can be a top-level defender in the NWSL,” said general manager Lesle Gallimore. “We’re pleased to have her back to continue her upward trajectory as a professional.”


Selected by OL Reign as the 21st overall pick in the 2022 NWSL Draft, Brown has made 18 appearances for the club, across all NWSL competitions. As a second-year defender, Brown made 11 appearances in the 2023 regular season, recording 23 duels won, 12 tackles won, six interceptions and nine clearances.

During the 2023 UKG NWSL Challenge Cup, Brown appeared in all six games of group play and held opponents scoreless in every game. The 23-year-old finished second on the team in the tournament in tackles won (9), interceptions (8) and blocks (3), respectively. On May 31, Brown earned the game-winning goal against San Diego Wave FC, her first-ever goal for the club.
