Men’s Soccer Inks Frankie Westfield


UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State men’s soccer announces the addition of Frankie Westfield from Philadelphia to the 2024 recruiting class. Westfield adds significant academy experience to the fall roster. 
 
The defenseman joins the Nittany Lions from YSC Academy in Chester, Pa. where he is set to graduate in the spring. Westfield has great experience playing at a high level. Westfield has spent the last six years with the Philadelphia Union Academy where he helped the team win the 2022 U-17 MLS Next Cup. 
 
For the last three seasons, Westfield has been called up to the Philadelphia Union II team. The strong defender appeared in 46 games with 41 starts with the Union. Offensively, he registered two goals and four assists during his time with the team.
 
Westfield is not the only athlete in his family. His brother John is a punter/kicker and a pitcher at the Division III level for Eastern University in St. Davids, Pa.
