SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The No. 2 overall seed Notre Dame Fighting Irish are making their third College Cup appearance in program history, including their second in last three years, as they take on Oregon State in the NCAA Championship Semifinals at 8:30 p.m. ET on Friday, Dec. 8 at Lynn Family Stadium in Louisville. The match will air on ESPNU.

THE IRISH IN THE NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP

• Notre Dame is playing in its 24th NCAA Championship in 2023 and have played in the tourney in 20 of the last 23 seasons.

• The Irish have an overall record of 22-20-7 in the NCAA Championships.

• Notre Dame has a record of 2-0-1 at the College Cup in program history.

• The Irish did not advance from the semifinal in 2021, drawing against Clemson with a score of 1-1 before falling in penalties.

• Notre Dame won the College Cup in 2013, defeating Maryland by a score of 2-1 to capture the title. It was the program’s first trip to the College Cup.

• The Irish have advanced to the round of 16 on 12 occasions and have now made six quarterfinals with three coming during the six years of the Chad Riley era.

• Notre Dame’s No. 2 national seed is the highest the program has earned since being the top-seed during the 2014 season.

• The last time the Irish were in the NCAA Tournament they advanced to the College Cup for the second time in program history, coming in the 2021 season.

• With the win over Kentucky on Nov. 19, the Irish are 13-8-2 in their opening NCAA Tournament matches in program history and have advanced to the next round 15 times.

• Notre Dame and Oregon State will face each other on Friday evening for just the third time in series history.

• The Irish are 2-0-0 against the Beavers in the all-time series.

• Both Notre Dame victories were one-goal wins.

• The Irish defeated the Beavers by a score of 2-1 in the most recent matchup, coming in South Bend on Sept. 7, 2012.
