On Saturday afternoon DRV PNK Stadium once again witnessed the passion of international fútbol action between two top national teams, with Inter Miami CF’s home hosting the the U.S. Women’s National Team’s preparation match against China PR en route to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The fixture, the second to last for the USWNT in 2023, saw the teams playout a thrilling matchup which resulted in a 3-0 victory for the USWNT over China featuring goals from Sophia Smith, Lindsey Horan and Trinity Rodman.
Some familiar faces were present in the stands at DRV PNK Stadium, including our Inter Miami First Team players Ian Fray, Cole Jensen, and world-class tennis legend Serena Williams.
Prior to the match, both teams trained at the state-of-the-art Florida Blue Training Center during the week leading up to the game. The facility consists of a 50,000-square-foot training facility in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, which boasts six natural grass fields and one turf for the development of professional and youth players. DRV PNK Stadium is located just across the street.
This match marked the second outing for the USWNT at DRV PNK Stadium as USA previously hosted Germany at the world-class venue on Nov. 10, 2022.
