Cat Barry Named United Soccer Coaches All-American – University of South Carolina Athletics

KANSAS CITY, MO – United Soccer Coaches has announced the 2023 NCAA Division I Women’s All-Americans on Friday, with senior forward Catherine Barry making the third-team list. This is the first All-American honor for Barry’s career, and the 11th All-American in program history. South Carolina has had at least one All-American every year dating back to the 2013 season.

Barry had a strong senior year for the Gamecocks, becoming an offensive machine, leading the team in goals (9), assists (5) and points (23, 3rd in the SEC). The forward also finished second in the conference in shots (76) and sits at third overall for goals. Barry tied her career high of 10 shots in a game at home against Furman (Sept. 10) and Coastal Carolina (Sept. 3), which was the second most in a game within the conference this year.

In the Gamecock record books, the senior’s 33 career goals places her at the No. 4 spot, and sits within the top-five for game-winning goals (16, No. 2), shots (248, No. 2) and points (85, No. 4).

This year’s All-Americans will be recognized for their accomplishments at the United Soccer Coaches All-America Ceremony & Reception on Saturday, Jan. 13, 2024, at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California, in conjunction with the United Soccer Coaches Convention.
