College Soccer News Men’s National Team Of The Week – Week Ending November 26, 2023 – College Soccer News

Logan Farrington – Senior – Forward – Oregon State – Farrington scored twice and assisted on the goals scored by Amanu Famos and Vicente Castro to help the Beavers roll past SMU 7-1 in Dallas. Farrington who transferred to Oregon State this year from Milwaukee has fifteen goals and seven on the season. The Beavers improve to 10-5-5 and advance to the Elite Eight. Ryan Kingsford – Graduate Student – Forward – Loyola Marymount University – Kingsford provided the lone goal of the contest when he sent a volley into the back of the frame in the 67th minute of the match in LMU’s 1-0 win over a James Madison team that had previously topped Pittsburgh and Georgetown. The Hoosiers advance to the Elite Eight where they will face Notre Dame. Indiana is once again playing their best soccer of the year when it counts the most. Martin Vician – Graduate Student – Forward – North Carolina – Vician drove a header into the net in the 86th minute of play out of a free kick put in play by Quenzi Huerman in the 86th minute to knot the score at 2-2 in with Hofstra and give the Tar Heels new life. The contest remained 2-2 at the conclusion of regulation and two overtime periods. UNC then prevailed in penalty kicks. Five Tar Heels including Vician made their pks and UNC netmineder Andrew Cordes made a big stop in the shootout. Yutaro Tsukada – Senior – Forward – West Virginia – Tsukada is an opportunistic goal scorer. This week he intercepted a pass that resulted in a deflection that teammate Marcus Caldeira controlled. Caldeira then played a through ball that Tsukada ran onto and deposited into the back of the frame from within the box to give West Virginia an early 1-0 lead over Vermont. The goal was Tsukada’s tenth on the season and his sixth in the last six contests. Max Broughton also scored and West Virginia advanced past the Catamounts 2-1.
